Finally a day off, long busy week full of satisfying results thank God.
Made a nice breakfast this morning, no cooking today.
Such a busy day, usually Fridays are lazy and quiet but this one was the opposite.
Started with breakfast with my friend who came by to give a German lesson to my son, followed by coffee for sure.
Lively nice Spring day.
Lunch today was semi ready, brought ready made veal escalopes and potato croquettes from my favorite grocery store in Amman, Centro Stores. Salad was two coleslaw bowls one with raisins the other without for the boys.
By the way all butchery goods at Centro are delicious, most important thing is the friendly professional staff who cares about every detail.
Enjoy the sunny weekend everybody cause we’re expecting rainy stormy weather this week.
Lovely day though a bit cold and cloudy but this didn’t stop us from having a nice cozy breakfast outdoors.
No hunting today due to weather conditions so as a small lovely gesture since all are home we
Of course tea with mint is a must, enjoy your weekend lovely people.
Friday lunch is always a last minute decision, I still have some potato pie from yesterday so needed something to go with it.
Finally after negotiations with the boys I took out some chicken breasts and added a crust on each one then sautéed in a bit of olive oil.
Crust was a mix of garlic, pesto, oregano, salt and pepper spread all over then topped with parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.
That’s it, quick and easy.
Nice relaxing Friday with only me and my eldest son home for lunch so lunch was a small portion for two and it was superb.
Decided to make this easy quick recipe I saw on Pinterest couple of days ago, with a small addition from me,roasted sesame seeds, really yummy.
#some sesame seeds.
# coat veal with flour very well then stir fry in some hot sesame or vegetable oil.
# when golden and crisp add chopped onion and broccoli and stir well till all crispy.
# add the sauce which is a mix of all ingredients.
#leave to simmer for 5 min then sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
Though I post this recipe of making a healthy dish of fava beans many times but it’s always requested.
Did one this morning and took with me to a lovely breakfast gathering at our dear friend’s house.
I use a can of cooked fava beans, heat it very well then add it to a mixture of chopped green or dry onions, chopped tomatoes, fresh mint and parsley leaves, juice of half a lemon,1 small spoon of cumin powder, dried mint, paprika, salt, a sprinkle of hot chili powder and olive oil.
You may wandered what did I do with all these cherry tomatoes in the oven, well they were very ripe and tender so this what you do…
I baked the whole tomatoes with one chili pepper, sweet yellow pepper, garlic, rosemary, oregano, salt and olive oil alongside the cake till all tender and a thick sauce is out. I then mixed all together in the blender.
Used this sauce with some fresh mushrooms, pesto and fresh cooking cream as sauce for fettuccine.
Sprinkle with Parmesan and oregano when served.
Easy simple end of the week lunch.
Have you noticed that restaurants these days are becoming increasingly expensive?
Well after a simple overrated lunch last Friday in Jerash I decided to compensate this week, since it’s only me and hubby are home for lunch I did these two lovely restaurant style dishes.Delicious, clean, elegant and with minimum cost.
Enjoy your weekend lovely people.
